Cash For Kids: Mission Christmas Continued Support
21st December 2022
On Tuesday, Joe and Cat joined the Cash for Kids team at Elland Road Stadium. Leeds United Football Club hosted an open-training session which supporters attended free of charge. In hopes of raising money for the mission Christmas initiative the club kindly asked supporters to bring either a gift or a monetary donation. As volunteers, Joe and Cat collected donations and presents.
The open-training session comes after Leeds United donated an incredible £30,000 to the Mission Christmas cause, which will be sure to transform Christmas for many children.
Volunteering for this cause was a no-brainer for WAVE. Members of our team have previously volunteered with the Cash For Kids ‘Mission Christmas’ initiative and we wanted to give back more.
This year, during the cost-of-living crisis, Christmas has been harder than usual for a lot of families. The West Yorkshire area of Cash for Kids allocated 16,000 children for which Christmas could be made that little bit better. There are still over 2,000 children who have been promised a Christmas gift and Cash for Kids need support and volunteers.
